Supper Club!

I’m in a monthly “Supper Club” with about eight other women. It’s a simple concept…each month we pick a different restaurant and go out to eat! We’ve been doing it for about a year and a half and I love it. When I was in news, I was never able to join groups like this one because I could never make the 6:30 p.m. reservation time. I was always still working.

Not anymore!

Last night, we headed to Arashi, a hibachi grill in Westlake.

The chef started out our meal with a Sake tasting for those interested. Many in our group didn’t hesitate to try it!

Rebecca only wanted a small tasting! See her protesting? ha!

Image

I didn’t try any Sake….not a big fan…but the girls say it was tasty!

We all ordered our food Hibachi grill style. I got the chicken and shrimp.

I even broke my own rule and took a picture of my food! haha I still feel silly taking pictures of my food. I’m getting over it, though! :)

The food tasted great but service was on the slow side. Not a problem, though, when you have a group of ladies together over dinner and drinks! Supper club has become something a truly look forward to each month and we’ve tried some GREAT Cleveland restaurants, that I otherwise, would have never tried.

Here’s a look at our group.

You may notice I’m in a sweater. The weather got cold here in the Cleveland area again!

Last night, we also celebrated a Supper Club member’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Julie!

Cleveland area folks…do you have any restaurant recommendations for our Supper Club? Everyone else… are you members of any clubs, like book clubs or supper clubs? I’d love to hear about them!

One weekend…Three Cleveland restaurants!

Today…I’m  full. We had a weekend packed with dinners with friends and I indulged a little too much!

Friday, we headed to Twinsburg for dinner with our friends Scott and Sherry.

Image

(sorry the picture is blurry…in a mad dash to get out of the house without Blake crying I forgot my camera and had to use my phone…don’t worry…the pictures get better!)

They live near Twinsburg and our favorite spot out that way is BLUE CANYON KITCHEN! Chef Brandt Evans never disappoints! Being the only non-Catholic of the group (I’m Methodist), I got beef tenderloin on Friday while the rest of the group got some sort of fish.

We had a great time catching up with Scott and Sherry. Funny thing..we (ok I) thought Gwyneth Paltrow was having dinner at the next table! I promise, the woman at the table looked and acted exactly like Gwyneth! We all had a good laugh over that!

Saturday afternoon, my parents came in town for the day. The made the short three hour drive from WV to spend some quality time with Blake. Dean and I already had dinner plans with two other couples.

Our friends Kim and Chris were celebrating their five year wedding anniversary! Here’s a picture of Kim and I.

We all headed to Crop, a great restaurant in the West 25th Street area of Cleveland, near the West Side Market.

Image

Crop is located inside an old bank building and it is absolutely beautiful inside!

There, we met our friends Jack and Heather. We hadn’t had dinner with them in about two years, so it was great to finally get together!

The girls!

I feel silly taking pictures of food, so you’re not going to see pics of what we ordered! We had a great dinner, followed by dessert. Yes, I had dessert two nights in a row. Ugh. Time to hit the gym!

Sunday morning, we all got up early and headed to brunch at Grumpy’s in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood.

Image

This is an amazing brunch restaurant and the staff could not have been more accommodating to Blake. They had crayons, brought him out fruit right away and helped us keep him entertained!

Blakey and Daddy!

Here’s a look at my parents…Papa and Grammy…or “Ming” as Blake has been calling her for some reason! haha

We ended the weekend watching our absolute favorite show, THE GOOD WIFE! Dean and I think that is the best show on television!

How did you spend your weekend?
