Our little boy is now two years old! His birthday was last week, but our little guy had three celebrations, starting in Hilton Head and ending back home in Cleveland.
We usually don’t make an August trip to Hilton Head, but this year was an exception. My mom’s best friend and her family rented a house near my parents home. Jo Ann is like another aunt to me and her three girls are like cousins. We grew up going on a family vacations with them every summer and we all hadn’t been together in a long time. There were five kids under the age of four running around, so it was crazy!
Here’s a look at Dean reading to three of the boys.
Now to Blake’s HHI celebration!
The theme was Mickey Mouse, Blake’s current obsession!
The cake was a hit…
Though singing “Happy Birthday” was not! He doesn’t like being the center of attention right now.
After a few days in HHI, we drove about four hours to Reynold’s Plantation in Greensboro, GA. Dean’s brother and his family have a lake house there. This was my first trip to Reynold’s Plantation and it was fabulous. Carrie Underwood got married at the Ritz on the Plantation a few years ago.
While the boys played paintball…
my sister-in-law and I spent some time at the Ritz Spa. It was amazing!
They also had some birthday plans for Blake.
We opened the menu at the Creek Club Restaurant to find this message for Blake on the menu!
Our little “wild man” was on a sugar high!
The next night, Blake got a special cotton candy treat to share with his cousin’s at the Linger Longer Steakhouse. The staff bring cotton candy to every table at the end of each meal. Very fun!
Our week long b-day celebrations finally ended here at home last week, with a small family party at home.
The theme here was also Mickey Mouse.
Blake got lots of great presents, including his this “special” gift from mommy and daddy…his very own car-car, as he calls them!
We were so excited to give him this gift, but it didn’t go exactly as planned. He loved the cars in the store, but he had never been in one when it was actually “on” and moving. As soon as he hit the gas pedal and it starting moving, he was spooked! For now, we have the battery disconnected and he just sits in it and plays. Baby steps! haha
Summer is now winding down and Blake and I start a “Mommy and Me” pre-school class in two weeks. For these last few weeks of summer, we are trying to spend as much time outdoors as we can…and keep Blake away from sugar after a week of celebrating!

What a great celebration. Happy Birthday, Blake! I would love to go to that Ritz. Looks like a gorgeous area.
