Spring in Pictures!

on March 20, 2012

Happy First Day of Spring! In the seven years that I’ve lived here in the Cleveland area, this is the first time I can happily report that Spring has Sprung! This is VERY unusual for Northeast Ohio, but we are loving every minute of it!

The best part for us has been enjoying our new backyard. We moved to our new home in October. While it was a great time of year to move, we didn’t get to enjoy our backyard. We moved from a cluster home with no backyard, so all the space we have outside now is just wonderful, especially for Blake!

Our new home already had a great swing-set in the backyard that we are now using daily!

Blake loves the swings and the slide! Last year, I had to drive him to local parks to swing. Not this year!

Dean also put together our new patio furniture this past weekend.

This is the set we purchased from Target. We love it!

Blake also has a new patio set!

This was one of his First Birthday presents and we are just now putting it to use! This table is also a sand box/water table! We love it! Blake now just needs a little umbrella in his sippy cup! haha!

Our new backyard also has several beautiful trees. Two of them just bloomed!

While the trees look beautiful, I’m a little worried about them. It is so early and I’m afraid we will have another frost before it’s all said and done.

Today is supposed to be another spectacular day and we can’t wait to get outside and enjoy it! The only problem? Right now our backyard, and the backyards of everyone I know in the Cleveland area, is a mud pit! I can’t keep Blake from playing in our yard on these beautiful days, though. So at the end of each day, we just have a very muddy little boy!

Little boys are supposed to be muddy, right?

Have you taken your patio furniture out yet? Have your flowers or trees started to bloom?

Happy SPRING!

I think I would put him in raggedy clothes to play in the yard. YIKES! I’m not good at getting stains out of things then they’re ruined? :(
Love the new patio set! I was wondering if you guys just went out and bought that table for Blake? I remember you all getting the water table but didn’t realize it was so big!
Is he able to play in it yet or will he have to wait until he gets taller?

    • Oh he’s plenty tall! He can easily play with it! We just need to add water and/or sand. Luckily, all the mud has come out ok. I can’t wait for it all to dry out! Dean says all yards are like the right now because the ground didn’t freeze this winter. I don’t get the correlation but whatever! haha

  2. Your backyard is lovely. He’s a real cutie.

Kathleen, a little tip for mud. If you let it dry completely, and then use like a scrub brush on it to sort of brush off a lot of it before washing it usually will all come out. Of course, Spray-n-Wash is a boy’s mom’s best friend!

We finally put together Mac’s picnic table, too, and he can’t get enough. We definitely need the fancy umbrella – nice touch! :)
